Owner...
  1. Include Photos: A picture really is worth a thousand words! Add additional photos to showcase details and unique features of your item.
  2. Describe your item in detail: A good description is concise, well organized, and easy to read. The more information you provide, the more likely renters are to make a booking requests.
  3. Communicate: Always respond quickly to any renter questions.
  4. If you are doing a transaction between individuals and are receiving a check, make sure the name on the check matches the person you are dealing with.
  5. Get paid up front and ask them to bring a copy of their drivers license (or another official ID document) and the original so you can be sure who you are dealing with.
  6. Agree to make a written agreement that both parties sign when the item is returned.
  7. Ask for a security deposit that will be returned upon your item being returned in the condition it left.
  8. Explain everything that needs to be known to operate or use your rental item.
Renter...
  1. Carefully read the description of the rental item before confirming a reservation request.
  2. If you need more information, contact the owner using the "Ask Owner a Question" button on the item description, before confirming a reservation request.
  3. When meeting the owner, make sure to ask about anything you would need to know to operate or use the item.
Both Parties...
  1. Always ask for a phone number and an address, and verify them (make a call before meeting the other member).
  2. Use safe locations to meet, if you feel okay with someone coming to your home then fine, but use a public place to meet others.
  3. Check out the evaluations and ratings of the other member before any transaction.
